Activity Details:
This activity is excellent for students to practice learning to write checks and fill out their check register while also getting up and out of their seats. Teachers can also keep this activity on the computer if need be.
Part 1
Students are to work with partners, but they are to fill out their own checks; this way, they have someone to double-check their progress. Then students will go around the school and find the pieces of paper with the different scenarios. When they find the various scenarios, they will need to fill out a check for each scenario on the checks provided for them. When students are done with their scenarios, they will return to the classroom to complete Part 2. 
Part 2
Once all the students return to the classroom, have them choose a new partner to work with for Part 2. The students are to double-check their checks with their partners to see if there are any mistakes. Then students are to fill out their check register with all the checks they filled out on their gallery walk. 
Part 3
Students then will collect all written checks and fill out their check register.
 
This activity is infused with technology and real-world application and is designed to be engaging and rigorous. These are perfect activities for any business class.
