Project Details:
There is no better way to prepare for taxes than practicing filling out a tax return yourself. In this project, students will complete three parts to gain a more profound knowledge of the 1040 tax return form. In Part 1, students will walk through an online tax return simulator to practice their skills and answer reflection questions. In Part 2, students will walk through instructions to fill out a 1040 tax return with assistance and an answer key to practice their skills to fill one out correctly. Please note students will need prior experience and knowledge of tax returns before starting this project. In Part 3, students will complete another 1040 tax returns to show the knowledge they have practiced and learned. This project is infused with technology and real-world application and is designed to be engaging and rigorous. It is perfect for any business class.
