Invention Inspiration: Learn from Young Innovators was designed to introduce young learners to innovation and entrepreneurship. This collection of activities is centered around real-life stories of kid inventors and entrepreneurs who have made a lasting impact, proving that great ideas can come from anyone, no matter their age.

Through hands-on, age-appropriate activities, students will explore the inventions of young innovators. It showcases many historical and contemporary inventors who started their journeys at a young age, creating groundbreaking solutions to everyday problems.

The presentation includes fascinating examples such as Chester Greenwood (the inventor of earmuffs) and modern entrepreneurs like Benjamin Stern of Nohbo (who created eco-friendly shampoo balls), inspiring students to see that age is no barrier to innovation.

It also provides an interactive, age-appropriate set of activities designed to engage children ages 5 to 18! Allowing them to explore invention and entrepreneurship in a fun, practical, simple, and quick way.

 

This easy-to-use product teaches kids about inventors and entrepreneurs and encourages them to think critically, solve problems, and envision themselves as the innovators of tomorrow. It's the perfect way to spark a passion for invention and help students discover the endless possibilities that lie within their creativity.

 

Materials needed are a device with internet, but if you print everything off, you do not need a device. And then just everyday items around the house. Here is the specific list for each age group below:

  • 5-7 year old: Paper, crayons, markers, construction paper, scissors, glue
  • 8-10 year old: Paper, pens, markers
  • 11-13 year old: Paper, crayons, markers
  • 14-16 year-old: None is required, though students may want to create a simple poster or drawing to accompany the pitch
  • 17 & 18-year-old: Paper for notes, poster board for presentation, a device with internet.
